quochuy
Hi guysI'm looking to start accurately record my catches. The measure tape that comes built-in my lip gripper is rusty so need to buy something else. I'm looking at a Pelagic measuring mat.The lip grip is good for medium to small size fish but for biggies like a PJ shark it's a no go. What can be used? I was thinking of a weighing sling but not sure where to get one. Is there anything else available? I don't want to spend too much money though.ThanksHuy--Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free Edited October 10, 2013 by Catchin Jack link removed

quochuy
Hey shole01, thanks for the response. What do you recommend for weighing big fish?
PRED-ATOR
get one of those mats that wrap around the fish and you hook the scale onto it. would be the best way to support the fish correctly. as for recording length, i just use a brag mat and also carry a tape measure. RichieR
Hey Huy,Have you seen this link : http://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/fisheries/recreational/saltwater/weigh I think PREDATOR is right - one of those scales you hook onto a net or a mat would be best. quochuy
Wow that conversion table is cool! I will use that while looking for a decent weighing net. Thanks guys!
slinkymalinky
Get one of the big plastic carry bags from IKEA. Cut a couple of small holes to drain water then you've got a cheap, ready-made sling for big fish
