How long to get to Browns?

Seeing that so many fishos are heading out to Browns lately can anyone tell me how long it takes to get there on a good day. Assuming a boat of say between 5.1 to 6.5M and powered to suit.

I know this is probably a silly question as much will depend upon the state of the sea etc, but it would be helpful to get some idea. I have only ever travelled there in Game Boats where time is not such a problem, particularly coming back if it blows up.

I've got a 6.1 Barcrusher an takes me round 1 hour from sylvania boat ramp to brown s in good conditions . Always watch for a westerly change , you don't want to be stuck wide in a small trailer boat . Always carry spare 20l of fuel to be safe

Thanks guys, that is less time than I would have thought.

My boat is a 5.6M Tournament with a deep V hull that should be able to handle that trip in reasonable conditions.

What frequency do people who go out there listed to for weather warnings?

I have come back from wide of Browns in a 26 Foot twin inboards Savage with a rising sea and found that the long swells generated required the skipper to take a lot of care in running "down hill".

The Savage was a great sea boat but even so we had some hairy moments. Be interesting to see how a smaller vessel will handle similar conditions.

Anyone come back from Browns in a rising sea?
