Livies at Molineux

Hey guys, was thinking about taking my 12ft inflatable out to Botany Bay on a calm day and try get some live yakka, just wondering what the best way to get livies around there is? I've heard Molineux is good, what's the best way to catch them?

Plenty of yellowtail around the cove where the tug boats are docked... you will see boats there all the time filling the tanks with yakkas

Just berley with bread and they will come.. single long shank hook with a bit of squid/pillie/whatever will do the trick

your not allowed there but everyone fishes there port security might come over and ask u to move past the point

as for the yakkas use a size 10 sure catch hook, use the tiniest bit of bait u can, use a nice soft fleshy piece of bait or a squid tentical drop it over the side 6 foot below the boat and let the yakka hook its self

I find a Sabiki rig works a treat, dont need bait on them but i find i can string them up 4,5 and 6 at a time with a little of prawn, pilchard or squid

thanks for the replies guys you're all legends, ill give it a go, ive also tried mince to catch yakka they absolutely go beserk over them so give that a try if they're not onthe chew
