I believe the seas have been too flat for too long for the fishing to be any good. I've been meaning to hit the Curly rock pool area but haven't had a chance to get down there. What bait and rigs were you using? Cheers, Spizza
Guest MarkD
I fished to the left of the rockpool Saturday 3 weeks ago. Tried bread and peeled prawns in the wash, soaked a few pillies, spun a few slices and lures, burleyed hard, stayed for 4 hours (before sun up 'till 10ish) for.........ZIP Did not see another fisho which was telling in itself. I think I'll give the Nthn Beaches a miss for a while.
gianniz
i was using pilly and squid, other fishermen were using pillies on a standard rig. there was this old guy he said he comes virtually everyday and he tells me he normally picks up 2-3 large salmons everytime. Anyway for me it was bit too ruff and i am going to try deewhy or narrabeen next. anyone care to give me a guide around that area

Even though I live a stone's throw from Dee Why Beach, I don't fish it anymore. It get's very hectic with joggers, power walkers, etc..Not to mention the stickybeaks who want to chat with you and don't go away!! Definately an early morning or late arvo spot. Narrabeen + Collaroy North Narrabeen has strong currents which sweep up and down the beach, but a great spot. Actually, the whole Narra / Collaroy stretch can fish well. Just look out for the gutters. Cheers, Spizza
