Night fishing for Jewies

I spent quite a few nights fishing for Jewies from South Coast beaches. One of the tricks that we had was to fish two rods that were left in rod spikes whilst we sat on the beach between them.

To make sure that we did not miss any bites we taped a light stick to the top of each rod. That way we could immediately detect any bites. Worked a treat.

You can get some glow lights that clip straight on the rod tip now, have used them a few times and worth a look if you need something like that. Usually just fish the one rod and hold it with my finger in contact with the line, on those really dark nights.
