The Incredible Hull
I purchased some 7" and 9" soft plastic stick baits and worm hooks, looking at targeting kingys. Anyone had any first hand experience with these and if so what retrieval technique did you use. Cheers.
Nathan Mckenzie
Good work mate, they work really good. U can either retrieve them in really fast which most times kingies will chance them or just let them sink and jig them a bit and make them look like an injured fish. Both methods I use and they work well. As long as u rig them up right. Good luck.
lostproperty
What colours did you get man ? I've got some 9" ones in white, haven't had any luck with them so far, might need to get some 6" ones as well and maybe some other colours. I've had lots of success on the kings with slick rigs in drop bear colour. Been trying a few different techniques. Depending on current, If strong I've been putting a small sinker on as well to get more depth, long sink and fast retrieve, jigging and fast retrieve on the surface, all seem to look really baitfish like so hoping to hookup soon

What's a slick rig?
Nolongeramember
Hi incredible hull. I generally find a medium, constant retrieve speed to be the best. Too fast and the 'followers' loose interest. Same if you go very slow or stop usually. But mix it up because you never know on the day. Also, make sure they are rigged right and don't spin. Check their action on every retrieve.

What's a slick rig? They're the ones from squidgy, pre rigged and weighted, different tails and colours and sizes, excellent if your a gumby like me at rigging plastics too haha
