Best time to fish the georges is the new moon up to full. and the best tide is usually one hour before the top and one hour after. best baits are live yakkas or big poddy,s , Good fresh squid are fine also. make sure you use a running rig with a six foot trace.and use enough lead to make sure your on the bottom .By the way I used to have a lot of sucess thirty to fifty meters west of the third pilon city side of captain cook bridge. As the water warms up in the next month , try good hawkesbury prawns Peel them tail up to the head put on 4/0 5/0 hook and before you throw in just pinch the shell off the head, this is like lollies to jewies. and remember a sucessful jew fisher is patient. Lawrie 63521 Hi Laurie, I've only been to the Georges River once but would like to fish for Jewfish if they can be caught in the mornings. Are they really only a night proposition in the Georges? Where can I catch yakkas, poddies and squid in the upper Georges? Thanks, Peter

Thanks, Peter 64408 You'll get poddy mullet around salt pan creek, I was down there on the weekend and there was a ton of them hanging around a storm water outlet along the walkway. Was told of a great jewie spot last weekend in the georges but I'm sworn to secrecy sorry about that
