slabslinger
Hi guys, I have only ever bought department store camping headlights for squidding at night and find they are pretty useless to some i have seen worn and used by others. Any tips for brands or specifications or other features when I purchase please. For example, lumens is obviously brightness, but can you have too many lumens? do they need to be more of a spotlight or floodlight? The more information the better please. Many thanks, Slabslinger
LeoB
G'day I've got a led lenser H7 (I think) and love it. So much better than the cheap ones I've owned previously. I also have a daiwa uv torch (black light) for shining on the jigs before I send them for a swim, which is also a great investment. Cheers Leo
slabslinger
Thanks Leo. Can you remember how much it was? I can see a big range in price. Wondering if some might not be genuine.
Fab1
I'm with Leo, Led Lenser are high quality headlamps and torches made in Germany. I have the h5 headlamp and a p7 torch and haven't been able to fault them....they are pricey compared to the rubbish around but look after them and they will last you a lifetime. I got mine on special for about $90 bucks from memory for both but in my opinion it was money well spent. Cheers.
rockfisherman
Energiser headlamp. It's the best iv used and tough. The one I have now is 4 years old and has had plenty of use and knocking about. Not to sure about the high end stuff. Harry If it's to good to be true, it usually is...

foolforjesus
I have the H7, which is good, then upgraded to the H14R (rechargeable). Best headlamp I reckon by far. Worth the extra money, and if you look around you can get one for under $130 online. Check that they are an authorised Led Lenser reseller though. I think they are 220 lumens, and last at least 4 hours on full power!
00ROTA
Any headlamp that is rechargeable will save you money in the long run! I would hate to know how much I spent in the last couple months on batteries.

shak4g63
I have a h7r lenser but ive found the battery l8fe is limitedbon a full stregth beam so I charge it then put 3 AAA batteries but it gets annoying when your in a hit a hot bite and your light weakens. ..the energizer one are good too I have both best is to keep one spare when .....it gets dim then change em over.
