The Makos that turn up there are unbelievable fun to get get into as well. That reminds me, I must plan my next trip soon! Top catch, well done. chocolate
Hello guys, This is my first post as I am a new member. I must mention that there are some nice fish caught there and crabs. What I think SOUTH WEST ROCKS is one of the best fishing spots on the east coast of NSW, When the water is running right WOW it goes off. But only one down side to it is the bar , But safety comes first. Keep the action coming in, Its the next best thing if you cant go fishing is other peoples catches/photos. Paikea
I am sooo jealous! South West Rocks has to be one of the nicest spots on the coast. Great haul of top eating fish, but you forgot to mention the Pearly lying next to the fish box. Best eating of the lot of them. Intrigued about the Spanner crabs, never seen them caught before. How and in what areas do you catch them? Like the look of the transom on your boat. What type/model boat is it? Cheers Paikea

Cheers Paikea Hi paikea the spanner crabs are caught in water from 20 to 50m deep as far as I know u put Pillys in a rectangle flat trap which has netting in the middle of it drop it down on sandy areas and wait an hour they live in the sand and come out and get caught in the net with there spiky armour the cut of point to fish for them is hat head I think they have open and closed seasons on them as well also you can't let them soak for a long time as sharks and mainly turtles love them more than we do ha haAnd as for the boat it is a tabs southerner 5.4 with a 90 Suzuki 4 banger on the backer got the shell and then I set it up how I wanted it with the bait tank and electrics and so on
billseeker
Hi Pete with the teaser I luv it use it as soon as I put a lure in the water and even trolling with live baits when game fishing I run the teaser under the short corner and a daisy chain on the other side on a sunny day and clear water the flashes could be seen for ages
