moe Posted January 7, 2014 Share Posted January 7, 2014 Hey I'm getting a new rod and reel this week , a Daiwa generation black 4-9kg rod and Stradic c14 4000FA , I'm considering putting 15lb braid , but don't know what to use for my little ill be targeting big bream , fatties , small jewies and chasing school fish like bonito small king fish exc and will also flicking soft plastics with this set up what lb line should I use...... You're probably on the mark with the poundage. Also need to take into consideration what your rid is rated at. Harry If it's to good to be true, it usually is... Guest Aussie007 Posted January 7, 2014 Share Posted January 7, 2014 kingy is probably in a different league to the other fish except the jew in a strong current, kingys fight hard and dirty they try bust u off at any chance they get and usually its strait after they are hooked so u need a hefty leader, u wont be catching a lot of bream on 30lb leader i'd say have two different leaders, u could use from 6-10lb line with with the same leader and for targeting a king use 20-30lb leader a few months ago i was live baiting yakkas on a 2-4lb rod 6lb line 20lb leader and out fished my mates by two fat healthy salmon, it was bloody unreal something i'd like to try again Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
