Guest fishrunner
Hi there, Well where to start? Left the local boatramp at lilyfield and headed for the heads, 1st off a quick stop to try for a few squid - no joy there . Then off to north head to try and find some salmon, seemed to be lots of birds in the air, but alas no busting sambo's. Sort of got the impression I had just missed them as quite a few boats milling round. Oh well I'll go south as I had seen a school busting of bondi earlier in the week,- but no joy there either . Heaps of dolphins about so tried to get a few picks with the arm over the side whilst doin 4 knots to keep them playin at the side of the boat, this was the best I came up with. sayin goodbye Hard to get in the frame when it's point and hope Then back to north head , still didn't spot any action there, so thought bugger this I'm goin bream fishin . Headed up past figtree bridge fished hard for a few hours for not a touch . Time to go as I got the call , but stopped off at a few boats on the way home and managed 2 sml bream round the 28 cm and 1 serious fight that resulted in the hooks being pulled after 30 secs of edge of the seat fight. That was the highlight plus the dolphins. still always good to be out on the water , cheers brad
Guest bluecod
Great photos Brad Those birds at North Head today were frustrating - they sure looked like they were eyeballing schools of salmon but we did not see any bust-ups either. The gulls normally hang out on the rocks right at North Head, but were disturbed there by people abseiling down the cliffs - still doesn't explain why they kept circling they way they were
Guest fishrunner
Thanks george, Yeah, I was thinkin the same, birds doing high circling patterns I would normally presume they were watchin something down deep,- buggered if I could work out what it was though . Also ran into alexit and his better half in annie b , nice lookin boat that and seemed to handle reasonably well, can't seem to get mine out in the boat often,- 2 sides to that coin though. . Maybe next weekend cheers
alexit
Hey Brad, Good to see you out there mate, it was a great day out even without the fish. Nice shot of the dolphins too. Rach loves coming out and gets right into the fishing too, even to the point to being the one who shows the fishing newbe friends the fine points...."now you just get this plastic fishy and make it do this or this and the fish just come right up and grab it!....it's easy!" The boat handles great although coming back into the harbour later against that westerly was a bit slow and wet.... alex
