Jewfish setup and rig

I have an 8000 sized sure catch stallion reel and a 12 beach rod which i was given but i believe it is costumed made and very strong. I don't know the weight strength of it as i was given it by an old fishos. i have loaded this up with 30 pound mono. Anyway I'm just starting to get into jewfishing and need a rig that i can use for yakkas and possibly squid off wharfes in sydney harbour. Any possible advice will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
