Hi Guys

Has anybody fished St georges basin recently or sussex inlet? Im heading down with the kids and wouldnt mind doing some prawning too.

has anybody fished this arera recently? Would really appreciate some tips or advice, taking my boat down with me, armed with my new christmas present from myself, a new diawa interline rod. Look forward to hearing soem feedback from other fishraiders. BTW went out with my mate Chewy

yesterday armed with a few poddys and my new rod. the tides loked good and so did the lack of wind, but it was slow. Chewy bagged a nice Flatty

on a squidgy near manly , but it wasnt till 6.30 that the game changed, a flounder took a poddy of the bottom and a nice keeper Bream took my blade very soon after. Quite a nice bag , 1 45cm flathead, 1 32 cm bream and a nice pan sized flounder post-22294-0-66344800-1389690563_thumb.jpgpost-22294-0-66344800-1389690563_thumb.jpgpost-22294-0-98992500-1389690737_thumb.jpg

Hope you parents are on the mend, drop by Big W or Kmart, grab yourself a spinning combo, I think there is plenty of shore based fishing spots along that part of the coast.

There is, I have fished them, and I have contemplated it, believe me! Don't know how many times we have been over the husky bridge at low tide and I have counted at least 5 yabbie pumps, and I can feel the action....

Most of my fishing these days is out the front, but I seasoned on sandbars and creeks so it s in the blood.

And having a boat in the pen at home, that I planned work on this week, and a tender in the warehouse, that I had cleaned, and was going to fit rod holders to before taking to the marina to fit to the boat

Aaaaaargh, I just want to chase flathead?

Hey was down at sussex at xmas and the basin and the inlet were full of bream.

I hadnt fished there before but got chatting to an old local fellow who gave me some info

on entering the basin form the inlet as it drops off anchor up in 6m of water , (he uses burley) i went without

live nippers are the key on lightly weighted line with a vanish leader .for the two times i took the boat out the legal tally

was 2x 48cm flattie and 13x bream with countless small stuff , only a few solid bream were kept for the table.

the fishing was good and kept my inlaws and kids (new to fishing) entertained .with a few bust offs on the 6lb leader.

Theres some big bream there and i didnt get time to explore further cant wait to go back

Hi mate, just got back from Sussex, and fished the Basin on 5 occasions with mates, plenty of fish and learnt quickly no drifting, anchor and berley - the local fish shop at Sussex has GPS marks for the 6 artificial reefs in the Basin which surprisingly produced fish on each occasion we went there, Nice Flathead, jackets, Bream and legal reddies.

I also met a bloke in the inlet at the ramp who fished the sand flats opposite the bowling club and he had a fantastic catch of thumper whiting some of the biggest I had ever seen along with flatties and bream. He was in by 10am and had started at 3am.

Good luck.
