gmandile
Hi all, Went out on Sat morn on the Hacking with the intention of trying to catch a bit of bait for an arvo session with a mate. Tried a few spots in the around Lilli Pilli with no luck, so moved out closer to the heads. Decided to just throw a jig over the back and leave it while drifting over some weed patches and started rigging up a couple of other lines. After a few minutes hooked up a nice squid. Was pretty happy as haven't managed any the last few times I have been out. Did another drift with the same result so put the rigging aside and decided to concentrate on catching a few more. Anyway, after a couple of frantic hours, managed to put 10 really good size ones in the tank. A couple of other boats were also pulling them in close by as well. Some of the biggest squid I've seen for ages. Home for lunch, then picked the mate up for the arvo session, and tried for a couple of kings but too blowy outside so headed back in to the same spot and picked up another bakers dozen. Highlight was when one of them sent a perfectly aimed ink shot straight into my mate's face (payback for a similar event where I copped it a few months ago. haha) Went home with a great feed and a stack of kingie bait for a few more sessions. Sorry no photos, but a great day out!

gmandile
Hi one arm, Got em up around Jibbon weed beds. Might give it another go this weekend but I imagine there will be a thousand boats around for Oz day so could be tough.
