GreyNurse
Well, my GP has ordered me to "go fishing". So a quick bit of paperwork with the help of my boss and I'm on a month's leave. In keeping with the doc's advice I kick off with a land based morning sesh at Wally's Wharf, Port Hacking. I arrived with my newly acquired medium spin outfit and a light spin rig. The first cast was on my medium spin gear as I still had a TT blade attached from a workout previously, to get the feel of the outfit. This cast was just to warm up, but the lure was hit on the drop by a juvenile pinky. He didn't muck around and had all three rear trebles in each corner of his mouth and lower jaw. Doing some damage was inevitable to remove the hooks, but he swam off vigorously enough. Things were quiet for a bit, then about 40 mins later, the same lure, but transferred to the light spin rod and a very aggressive baby tarwhine hammered the lure on the first lift off the bottom. Amazing how these lutjanids will savage a lure a third of their size with NO fear whatsoever. Little T was returned to pick on something much less it's own size. A short time later, the blade was lost to a rocky snag, so I figured it was a good enough start to my "treatment", so it was off home to clean up for the next time. The pinky and the Tarwhine. That's only a 5g blade! Edited February 12, 2014 by GreyNurse
Flickn Mad
Good to see your taking your medicine Nursie. It never ceases to amaze me how aggressive juvenile fish can be. be it flatties taking ridiculous hardbodies or pinkies like yours. keep up the therapy and we will look forward to more reports. Scratchie
Good stuff nursie! At least it's a start to your recuperation. I'm sure you'll get something alot bigger than that by the months end.
