willradley
Hi raiders Has anyone purchased the new humminbird 698ci hd si I'm thinking of getting a new sounder and still tossing up between 600 or 800 in the humminbird range Has anyone got any feed back on the units performance? Hows the picture quality on the smaller screen? Look forward to your feedback Will
Brian
Hi Will, I just picked up the 598CXI DiSi as it was a clearance, only $949. It's got the same screen size and I don't find it too much of a problem given the amount of fishing and type I do. You just have to assess your personal choice. I went the 598 not 798 as the 798 had a few features I'll never use. The depth of the Di and Si is only 30m in the 598, now 50m in the 698 and I think only 45 in the 798 but, 30m is good enough for me. Found all the features great and the combo view was not too small. Amazing technology. I am really keen to get into some unknown grounds but, looking at areas I already know was a great way to understand the different types of view. The 600 series must be really new as the Aussie Humminbird site does not even have them yet. Hope this helped a bit. Brian. willradley
Thanks Brian that's good feedback Just talking with a local boat shop where I'm buying my new boat and I was looking at buying the HB 898c hd si and he told me there is a complete update of the HB ranges and told me to hold off Apparently the 600 series is available now and the 800, 900 and 1100 series are due in march he reckons the RRP has come down on these newer units Thanks again Brian Will
Brian
No probs, Always the way though. Just when you get that new car they bring out a new model. Anywäy mine will give me many years of fishing given the amount of fishing I now "don't get to do. LOL
