fisholb
hi all. woke up sat morning and my eldest son asked me if we can go fishing. its been two weeks since the last time we went fishing at port stephens. asked the boss and she said ok so quickly packed the gear before she changed her mind. got to the spot around 3pm. the beach was absolutely packed. it was very hot too. plenty of white pointers. hehehe. grab d gear n off we went to my fav spot. only a couple of fishos on d rocks. rigged one rod with pillys on float hoping for a bonito. gave it to my son n rigged another rod with pencil float to target d smaller species. bream/trev or anything really. my son said to me that he wants to catch anything. we were getting nibles n my son keeps on losing bait without even feeling d bite. we were using chicken n pillys for bait. rigged up another rod with running sinker n no 4 hook. my son started catching baby snapper every cast. my son was all smiles. i was holding d rod with d pencil float n with pilly head n something grab it n started pulling some line. i was using 10lb braid n 10lb fc trace. this thing was pulling more line decided to tighen d drag. after a couple more minutes a 31cm bream is on d net. for d next hour me n my son keep on hooking bream after bream after bream. plenty of busts off. got reefed a couple of times. d bite slowed down around 6pm so decided to pack our gear around 630pm. got home around 8pm. ended up taking 5 bream home for dinner. thats all we need for a feed. best fishing session with my son. thanks for reading. UnderFisher
Great fishing session! I can't wait until my boys are old enough to take out fishing. During the day off the rocks I've been having the same problem- lots of nibbles and losing bait mostly without feeling it. I think it's because there are plagues of sweep around.
