Newcastle vs The lake boat fishing

Hi all, as a new member to this site and the fact Marie and I live so far away

could some one give me some inside info on the good fishing spots please !? as

we travel 7 hours to come up to youre nice part of the world I'ld like to go

to a spot and at least get a fish or two

We are stay at Broadmeadows the week before Easter so I'm guessing the port is closer to the lake

so i would like to know any spots close to where we are with out driving a hour to get there LOL.

I would also like to know what type of fish are around that time of year

Hi lee,

First of all, welcome to fishraider!

If you are staying at broadmeadow, port stephens is only an hour drive and you can fish for so many different species. Are you boat or land based?

I don't have any experience with newy or lake mac but if you decide to drive to port I'd be happy to provide you with a few spots!

Morning Scratchie, thanks you for the warm welcome ,sorry I forgot to add we are bringing our boat up 16 ft alloy

I was thinking in the port it self or just outside the break waters

We want to try for squid and tailor but like I said coming from Wodonga VIC and not liking fresh water fishing

I'ld be happy to catch anything other than a cold LOL

My suggestion would be to ring a few local tackle stores around where you are staying. Tell them where your from and I'm sure they will only be to happy to help out!

A few raiders may have done input too!
