fishing in the rain

In my experience when you have windy and rainy weather like at the moment, the fish tend not to bite, that's just my personal experience to be honest, others may have had better luck though. Good luck.

Is beach fishing in the rain bad? No lightning, just rain. Does it effect the bight allot?

Depends where you are fishing, tide, beach formation, waves etc all seem to be more critical in heavy rain. Sometimes the fish will bite their heads off but it is bloody uncomfortable standing in the rain. And lightning can appear fairly suddenly in which case you don't want to be holding a graphite rod.

On the other hand, fishing in the rain in an estuary can be quite productive, particularly where creeks run into bigger water and washing bait fish into the main stream where the bigger fish will be waiting. Providing you have some shelter not a bad experience.

Cheers
