roosters123
Planning a trip to middle harbour an going to launch at tunks park in my 3.5 metre tinny with 8 hp. Anyway can anyone give me some decent areas in which i can have a go at some of the bread and butter species like flathead, bream and whiting. Just want to get a couple. Thinking one of the bays maybe suguarloaf or sailors bay? Any help will be appreciated.
Linc
You'll usually be able to pick up some bream, pinkie snapper and leather jackets along the edge on either side inbetween longbay and sugarloaf, chance of something exciting like a king from time to time too. Fish up close to the structure on the edges.
roosters123
thanks, what should i be looking at using baits or lures?
Linc
both should work, prawn and pilchard pieces will generally find you some you some table species, if you're a fan of a soft plastic I'd flick one of those around too, landed my first legal king in middle harbour on a plastic just playing around. roosters123
what about some of the wrecks, where are they and how should i fish them?
hellcorner
Around the moorings in sailors and sugar loaf bays can fire up. Pillys and prawns are my choices of bait,, but salted Pillys are better. Berley up with bread crumbs, berley pellets, and cubes of pillies, or a combination of all 3. Target one species, and you could be rewarded with a bag. You could also end up empty handed, but that's fishing. Soft plastics work well there too, Let us know how you went.
