stevefish
Funny day today, The day started with a bit of movement on the bottom of the boat as it came off trailer. . Oh yeah the bungs! Bungs in, park the car. . Flat battery! Getting ready to crank with the rope, one last shot gets it going, no worries it will charge. First spot no joy then go to start, click click no deal. I gave it a crank with the rope and no worries. A bit of a change to the days plan to cut the number of starts and do more with the electric and we're away, no action for a while and the pressure is building to produce a feed, desperate measures are taken and get the secret stash out, my second last 70mm pink squidgie, no longer available. Second cast, 45 flatty, a few casts later hooked up dropped, jig pause jig hooked up again, dropped boat side. A short time later, 55 lizard on the deck with the pinky. Time to test the theory, start casting with a nuclear chicken grub with the pinky in the rod holder, guess what hooks up? Yep the pink squidgey. It's shredded now and I had a feed so back to other squidgys and the nuclear chicken. A few more lizards come in for release all in the 45-55 range on 2 and 3 pound in a metre of water, then time to get going. . . Crank. . Crank . . Crank crank crank crank swear. .crank crank crank crank double swear Disconnect the electric and connect it to the engine, we're away. Get back to the ramp and there is a bloke on the ramp looking at me, and he says You got jumper leads? Nah He gets jumper leads, You can use my battery to start. . But if your battery dont charge your stuffed No worries, it'll charge, Yeah, that's what i said this morning. .
