mike2153 Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Hi guys naming on heading out this afternoon just wondering if there's any gutter on the northern beaches that are worth fishing at the moment
mulloway stalker Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Mike, the big swell last sunday is likely to have generated a few decent gutters and hopefully put a bit of colour back in the water. In the last two weeks it has gone a bit quiet ion the beaches compared to the weeks previous to that. Some fair fish coming off the rocks though and have been getting fish on the kayak on the inshore reefs lika Mona Vale. Have a look at the beach cams. They can give you a pretty fair idea of the situation. Tides are good for this weekend.
reubs Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 I'm still trying to work out the gutters at the beach thing.. They don't seem to be easy to spot on the northern beaches.. My mum seems to find them ok with her alloys around the place but that's about as good as it gets.. I was at narrabeen on Friday night and I couldn't tell where any gutters were :/
quochuy Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 I often noticed this this year around the northern beaches. Gutters are more difficult to find compared to last year. You see something like a gutter but one minute later there are plenty of white water on top of that area. And it's the same all the length of the beach. Before I moved to Central Coast couple of months ago, what I used to do is start from Curl Curl and stop and look for gutters if I can't find any quickly I would move to another beach up to Mona Vale. reubs Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 exact same problem here.. you stare at the waves looking for that gutter that everyone talks about, only to see something similar for one wave and then never appear again! the northern beaches really are frustrating sometimes..
