Another successful Jewfish trip at Port Stephens

Well despite the very poor conditions we had over the 3 days the secret spot still managed to produce landing 10 fish and keeping 6 with the largest going just over 6kg. Due to the strong wind we had over the whole weekend it wasn't as easy to keep on top of the fish but it was a welcome change from being stuck at home as we hadn't been away since Christmas time. Overall a very fun but wet weekend!

The red things are the stomachs of the fish when they suffer from barotrauma it happens to them

We caught them most on dead yellowtail but we lost some larger fish on squid as well so a bit mixed

awesome haul there

and that red thing is its swim bladder, when you bring up a fish from deep water (more than 10m) their bodies cant adjust quick enough to the change in pressure as they are brought to the surface of the water. This results in a release of gases in the swim bladder hence the very enlarged swim bladder

cheers
