Hooked-Up
Gday mate, Lake wallace is a good spot to catch your first trout. There are some big rainbows in there and i have been told there are browns too but havent caught one yet. take a couple of rods with you. Rainbows are trying to spawn at the moment and will be feeding on each others eggs so the powerbaits should do ok just left in a rod holder. worms are always a good bait too. Whilst waiting for the baits to go off you can spin some lures, They will show interest in a large variety of lures so you can basically try all of them, Plastics, Tassies, Vibes, Hardbody divers, etc. Fish sloooow with lots of pauses as thats when they seem to hit (on the pause). slow rolling lures will get you alot of follows but they dont seem to fall for it too often. Wallace lake has alot of weed in it which can restrict fishable locations at the moment but you should be able to find somewhere, if not theres Lyle around the corner which also has large trout Rainbow and Brown. Good luck on your hunt for mr speckles mate.

Hooked-Up
today Lyle, tomorrow Wallace lol. Lyle is bigger/ deeper and has a river running into it. It also has some chunky bass in there too. Can take boats on Lyle. Wallace is shallow and weedy and allows elec power boats only. If i could only fish one of the lakes i would say it would have to be Lyle as there alot more possibilities (downrigging, drifting, jigging, etc) If you have a flyrod and know how to use it make sure you take it too. (nymphs, glo bugs and wooly buggers are working at the moment.) good luck which ever you decide on and enjoy.
