Nolongeramember
"Sen-Sgt Faustmann said there was no law or penalty for exceeding boat carrying capacity on croc-infested waters in the NT." That's crazy. And where are the lifejackets for kids under 12?
Holls
I fished in those waters about eight years ago and you can see crocs. They just submerge as you pass them in the boat. I don't think I'd do it again.
Guest no one
7 People in a tinny...? better phone Tony Abbot as it sounds like Asylum seekers have broken the defences!
cameldownunder
Probably even within parameters, in regards to the number of people. Tinny probably allowed to carry 4 adults, or 2 adults and 4 kids, or if the kids are very small, 5 kids ( cough ) Lifejackets for the kids, are indeed an issue. Boar is certainly not begger then 4.8m ....
Big-Pete
I am pretty sure lifejackets aren't really used in the rivers up there because if your in the water you are gone any way. Big-Pete
fragmeister
Reminds me of the seemingly carefree attitude some have in those areas. When I was up on the Daintree I saw a kid playing at the waters edge while his old man loaded the boat on the trailer. I was watching the crocks patrol the river not 100 meters from the ramp.... frightening stuff really. Jim
