frankie34
Hey just wondering if anyone has purchased one of the shimano nano rods XT or PX range. Will be used with a spinning reel, flicking SP around land based mostly, If so which one is better and curious as to what reel works best. Cheers. mii11x
Mate I was tossing up whether to get a nano rod from shimano, I ended up with a loomis nrx to chase jews. They are extremely light
Rami
I am looking at the shimano lure project right now. Getting the minnow I think. Or maybe the shimano soft plastic
rockyred
I have one in the 2-4kg I think. It is a very soft rod. If you are going to do bait and soft plastic get it. Otherwise I woukd prefer something a bit stiffer.
Cargo05
I have a Mexican Fire Raider II (Barra Raider 621), and an Impact Nano XT 621BC. Both these baitcasters are great rods, and although they have similar specs, the Nano XT is a better rod for flicking lures. I can’t comment on the Nano PX range other than they are a lot more expensive. I find it hard to justify the additional cost, however I have not fished with the PX, so have no firsthand experience. Other rods worth considering include the Daiwa Generation Black range. I have a Wild Weasel spinning rod which is fantastic for flicking small hard bodies and soft plastics. My Pflueger Trion graphite series rods are also nice to use. Hope this helps.
