fragmeister
Hi Raiders, Just a quick report because I have saved my main report for my sad solo fly fishing adventure. Before I let you know how it went today, I just finished two delicious steak sandwiches! Does that give you a clue? Yes, the harbour seemed a little slow today and I could see that the tour guides we darting about from one spot to another trying to produce for their customers. Water temp was up around 20 degrees and the only notable thing was there were lots a smaller salmon boils at North Head, and between Georges Head and Clifton gardens and at many spots up to Fort Denison. They seemed to be small schools and they went deep all the time making it very difficult solo fly fishing. In my view this was a pretty poor tide to be fishing with the last of the runout at first light and high at around 2:30 in the afternoon. If bait fished North Head, the drop off in middle harbour, sow & Pigs for a few barely legal trevally and gazillions of small snapper at about 25cm. I did check all the likely kingie markers and this came up on the sounder at one of the markers off Nielsen Park. Crappy image sorry but it did look promising. They are on the far left of the image and perhaps not midwater enough for kings. I chucked some squid strips and a stick bait at it but no takers. The squid baits were picked to bits so I suspect this was not kings. I did end up with a bream on a prawn fly pattern at sow & pigs but thats about it. All the keepers went back, I got burnt and a little dehydrated but what a glorious day. Cheers Jim Edited November 14, 2014 by fragmeister

mitchie18092
Was quiet on Thursday as well, just a flattie and bream for the table after a solid few hours fishing. Would have been lovely on the harbour yesterday though!
fragmeister
Bet they were awesome Steak sandwiches though? Mate they were crackers! Washed them down with a couple of beers and crashed on the lounge watching the cricket.
