15/11 Sydney harbour

Decided to take a mate out that enjoys fishing but has never caught anything with a bit of fight. Hit the water at 6am aiming for livies to use in the harbour. Was tough going could only manage 4 before enough time was wasted and decided to move on. Turned the corner of middle head and saw a few boats hanging around. Dropped some baits down and within 20sec of it being down got hit hard. Gave the rod to my mate and let him fight it out. After a few good runs we had a rat king in the boat. He was pumped couldn't wipe the smile off his face.

Tried all the usual spots in harbour for little success big surprise was a nice sized flatty took my live bait...was ready to call it a day. Again we turned middle head ready to go home and were met with multiple schools of salmon. Worked hard chasing them and were lucky enough to get 4 when it looked like other boats were struggling.

Finally called it a day. Was good to be back out there and see my mate catching something decent, got him hooked.

Good job! Those bust ups can be a nightmare to hook into anything at times. Well done on boating 4!

Nice work on the king what size was it. I was fishing that school near middle head and hooked 3 on plastics and only boated one the other two bust me off because I was only using 6lb leader. I was using plastics

King only went 58cm was on light gear so still got a great fight out of it. Hoping all these big fish from outside make their way into harbour soon. All Salmon were caught on chrome metal lure.
