mike2153
Hi guys, just wondering on the hunt for kingfish I know they love current, when I'm out the heads and over some reefs, how can I find where the current will be pushingn hard as to where the fish might be, I know they love sitting beyond pinicles behind a current etc but how do I find where this current will be pushing harder than other places etc? Cheers guys

locodave
Drop a weighted burley bucket and see how diagonal the line is? When there is a strong current, that bucket won't go straight down.
stevefish
Keep an eye on your SOG (speed over ground), if you drive at the same engine speed it will vary depending on the current you are pushing into or driving with. This will also be affected by wind/swell/waves, but with experience you will get a feel for it.
