nanman
Hi guys, Just a quick report on last Sunday. Got to bayview ramp about 4.45am to see about a million boats floating around. I assume they were there for the hawksbury classic? Anyway, the plan was to catch squid then use them as live bait for kingies. We managed to get three on the boat (dropped 3) within 1.5hrs but two of them were too big for live baits but no complaints! The rain came and we got soked & didn't have much luck with squid thereafter so we decided to make a move. Trolled around Scotland island with the live squid on the downrigger. Five mins later squid was gone and we didn't even know! Then we tried more trolling with squid strips but no hits. After that we anchored up and started a burly trail going which brought plenty of yakkas around the boat but no kings. A boat near us pulled three kings in the space of 5mins they all appeared to be rats but I didn't see them going back on the water!! Shocking!! We kept trying until 1pm and decided to call it a day before the predicted 30+ knot winds hit us. It was a great day out although we didn't boat any kings. The calamari was an awesome feed for the family. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Towlersbay boy
If your boat and guts are up to it I suggest you drive strait though Pittwater and out to east reef bommie or south Avalon head. They are pretty thick at the moment. Good work on the squid. Cheers

Jamestown
Those squid are definitely not to big you want em to appeal to the big kings and scare the rats. I wouldn't be deterred at all

I got these early in the morning & I think that's a good time when the sun is low.
