The Incredible Hull
Hi Raiders, Can anyone suggest a travel rod that will fit in a luggage bag? I was thinking a telescopic rod. Its use will be at wharves and rocks, targeting squid. Edit: Oh and the budget is $100 Cheers. boattart
Shimano raider travel series. I have 3 and they are perfect and a decent range of sizes for you. Best price around $115 so sort of in you range.

boattart
Cheers boattart, I'm liking the 7ft 5-8kg one. I have one of those and 2 of the 2-4kg spin rods. Last trip to Vanuatu kids caught heaps of Barracuda and small GT's on the light ones on plastics and had a ball. The 5-8kg I had rigged for livebaiting the bigger fish but could catch bait. The butt is one section and then the rest 2 piece so action wise very similar to my 1 and 2 piece raiders. bluebottle18
I am currently using th 5-8kg at the moment in the upper reaches of Thailand. great rod and it is holding its own against the hard fighting bass + talapia in the river. If you want to test your gear out this is a great place. But bring plenty of water. It so so hot you can boil water without a fire.

The Incredible Hull
Hey mate, I keep watching the ads, the "instant fisherman" seems the go! Lol. Cheers scratchie!!! Oh No!!! That ad annoys me to hell and back! lol You know what's even worse than that ad... you seen the one about the grooming\shaving of the beard? Theres a guy on there who makes these ridiculous, exaggerated facial expressions... that tops it for me! I allso try find SOFT PLASTIC travel rod, but lookslike that it is mission impossible . Do you have any experience about that? Hey Jani, I just looked it up, the Soft Plastics rod looks very similar to the Travel Series rod... so I am not sure mate. But I think I've already made up my mind and will get the Travel Series since Boattart has already used them. PM me if you want the details... I have the 2 piece 2-4kg Raider soft plastic rod and 2 of the 3 piece 2-4kg travel rods and there is no noticeable difference.
JaniFIN
Ok thanks, have to look that travel series when i come to there, only 3 months anymore. I have one Uglystic 6ft, 6-15lb line. Its go 4 part, and easy carry on airplane, but it is totally too smoothly for soft plastic fishing. cheers: Jani
