johnny5isalive
Hey hows it going, This is my first report on here but i thought i'd give it a go anyways. Last weekend i decided that i'd hit up the whiting down my way so on the friday i went out and collected enough beach worms for a quick session in the arvo around 530. The weather was perfect, overcast, light wind and only a gentle southerly swell so i didnt have to chase my line constantly. You can imagine my suprise when the classic tap tap tap of a whiting bite had my rod in a severe bend and line screaming from my daiwa luvias 3000. In the end after a 15 minute fight i ended up landing a solid jewie. Hopefully this means my luck is turning cause ive been targeting them all year from the local beaches down here on the south coast.

johnny5isalive
I've been using 8lb braid on the reel. I picked it up from aldi bout 3 weeks ago and it does a pretty good job for the cost of it.
johnny5isalive
And i was using a 2/0 circle hook. I find that they are the best for whiting cause they dont get gut hooked as much
