antonywardle
HI I have two channel 27 radio's in my boat I've taken one out and intend on putting in a VHF one eventually. Is the antenna that is left behind going to work on a VHF radio or am i better off getting a new aerial too? I know the channel 27's are getting decommed atsome point cheers
NaClH2OK9
I believe the aerials are NOT compatible.
Catchin Jack
Need new antenna, a 27mhz one will not work with VHF, leave the wiring if you can, just change antenna.
oz_brett
plug & coax is the same but the antennas are different. The length of wire inside the antenna is set to the frequency by using the wrong antenna you may damage the new radio. Personally I would be changing the base and lead aswell for piece of mind the slightest bit of corrosion will stop your radio from working, Brett
