seasponge
Just wondering if anyone has had any success with the soft segmented prawn imitation lures (eg savage 3d shrimp)? I had one a few months back which i had no luck with initially. It stayed in my tackle box but when i went to give it another go it had disintegrated. I fish on the Hwakesbury, and fresh prawns seems to outfish any other bait, SP's or blades. The imitation prawn lures are on sale at the moment so was thinking of giving them another go. thefisherman6784
I have a few of the squidgy stealth prawn in my box and have caught a couple bream on them but flatties love the little 'hit the bottom, two small hops then sink again technique' I would get a few Good luck Cheers thefisherman6784 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
pjbink
I have had a lot more success with the less realistic looking prawn imitations such as Atomic prongs, Z Man shrimp, Berkley gulp shrimp and Tacklecraft flatback prawns (no longer on the market). seasponge
thanks for the feedback. I've used the Berkley gulp shrimp. I hear a lot of people raving about them, but I am yet to have anything take one. I also find they don't cast as well as other SP's, even other Gulps. I keep persisting based on the constant positive feedback i see on them, but am yet be convinced - pumpkin seed minnows on the other hand are a different story :-)
stevefish
Haven't tried the ones you speak of yet, The old prawn stars went well on lizards and even caught a few squid on them. #seasponge, I feel gulp prawns need a relatively light weight to maintain a slow horizontal sink. My fave is peppered prawn colour.
matyg
big fan of the squidgie stealth prawns have nailed a fair few lizards in lake illawarra on the drop. almost gets to a stage where if there is nothing on the drop just reel in and start again.
