spaners
As we all know Braid sing/,vibrates in the wind.So Im thinking does it sing/ vibrate under water when under tension ie when you have a large sinker trying to hold bottom at Flint n Steel.Just thinking out side the square trying to improve catch rates. antonywardle
I would think it might. Sound travels through water Maybe the frequency will be different. Never really thought about it. Maybe that's why my catch rate is rubbish ;-)
NaClH2OK9
It's an interesting topic. This isn't limited to braid though. Mono or any material will vibrate given the right tension. I'd have thought that it shouldn't make a noise under water as the water would dampen the osslcilation.
matyg
could always stick your ear under water and find out
stevefish
It used to howl for me. When we had 3 or 4 lines with lead to park them, the lines started groaning when the current started really moving. The sound transferred to the boat (tinny)through the rod holders. I don't think those conditions are goodfor catching Jews so not sure if the line noise was a put off. I don't do much Jew fishing now so I haven't tried to get over the problem. Good luck.
