thefisherman6784
Hey guys As the title says, got a new ultra light combo! It's a pflueger patrairch 9525 with ultra fine 10lb PE WX4 braid matched with a beautiful majorcraft nextino 1-2kg trout rod Got down to the canal and straight away 2 cast, christened the rod with a nice little bream about 15cm Any fish is fun on this rod Anyway made my way to the flats with a little surface lure on and was getting some big whiting coming up and then eventually hooked up but lost it. I then changed to a deep diver and instant success with a whiting of about 25cm first cast Then next a flattie which went super hard which was about 38cm Then another whiting a bit smaller around 20cm Then another tiny whiting Then ended the day with a nice flattie back at the canal about 42cm which was heaps of fun Overall a great day christening the new rod and looking forward to tomorrow's flick Cheers Gianni Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
thefisherman6784
Sorry got the photos mixed up The second whiting photo is the one around 25 and the first is the smaller one Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
SgtBundy
Wish I could get a haul like that on a normal day - let alone christening a new combo - good job

stevefish
Why put 10 pound on a 4 pound rod?
thefisherman6784
Because this braid is I.G.F.A which means what ever lb it says on the packet is what it brakes at Unlike fins or power pro which brakes over what it says on the packet 6lb fins breaks at over 12-15lb so I put this 10lb on Any lighter in this brand of braid and I would cast of nearly every lure Cheers thefisherman6784 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
stevefish
$10 you can't snap it through the rod.
Ryder
Thefisherman6784 knows what he's doing. Don't worry. It's the pressure you apply that will snap your rod. That 10lb was 1/3 the thickness of my Fins 6lb. I've been caught in spider webs that were thicker.
