PRED-ATOR
Hi All, When we been fishing for jewies off the beach (with circle hooks), we often get sharks as a by-catch. They are great fun and some we land. Do you need wire if using circle hooks or will you still get bitten off? I dont want to use wire becuase i dont want to put the jewies off. Perhaps i should focus on catching one species a night but thats lame. Appreciate your feedback, Cheers
Crossfire63
Mate We have the same problem but don't resort to wire for the very reason that it will put the Jewies off. Its an occupational hazard that they occupy the same spots

Guest hawkesbass
Even with a wire trace you can still lose sharks to bust offs. Most times the tail will hit and break the line above the wire trace. Also, the main line will rub on the rough skin of the shark and break that way.
