Johns' Jetty

Hi Raiders,

My friends Sonya and Andy are house sitting for her dad John, he has a nice waterfront with a private jetty.

Jacqui and I spent New Years Eve with them, and I tried my luck for blackfish. They were on from the first drift. That was dinner sorted.

With an open invitation to come back, I got my chance this morning. I invited Trevor along to check out this 'sneaky' spot.

He arrived about 7am with some beautiful fresh weed and a bucket of berley already mixed.post-33162-0-82517500-1420248086_thumb.jpg

The downs started from the first drift, and was pretty consistent for the next hour or so.

As the current picked up with the outgoing the bites stopped, and we pulled the pin around 10.30

We ended up with 13 in the bag, 2 barely legal throwbacks and probably 6 lost fish, I left the landing net at home.post-33162-0-12976600-1420248412_thumb.jpg

A great morning session, the biggest went 36cm. Some of the dropped fish were up around 40cm.

All but 3 fish were released to fight another day.

Cheers

Ryder

Mate you will love it.

John is an Old Sea Dog, boat builder, sailor.

He loves eating blackfish, but no one has fished for them, or thought they could be there.

He has Grandkids who will be super keen now.

We will be doing a few lessons down there.

How is the north coast?

It's good thanks

Found myself a little lagoon familiar to my flats back home combined with moona moona creek in JB (which I'm also very familiar with) so very familiar with it almost

Good luck next outing

Cheers Gianni
