PRED-ATOR
Hi Guys, Want to give Clontarf beach a go land based mid week at night. Where abouts it the 'clontarf drop off' and what am I expected to catch around this time of year? Will be fishing slab baits, yakkas, pillies and hopefully fresh squid. Thanks in advance Raiders! fragmeister
Hi, Take a look at this picture from Google Earth and you will see where the drop off is as you head up middle harbour towards the Spit Bridge. You can catch pretty much any of the popular species here. Cheers Jim Edited January 6, 2015 by fragmeister
PRED-ATOR
Thanks Jim, There seems to be some good deep water towards the point at fisherbay walk too. Can you fish from the point? Cheers
fragmeister
Thanks Jim, There seems to be some good deep water towards the point at fisherbay walk too. Can you fish from the point? Cheers I have seen people on that point casting out towards the boat moorings with what looked like squid under a float. Can't vouch for them catching anything but my guess is they were targeting kings that roam around the moorings. You can see that there are some kelp areas on the point so it all makes sense to me that the squid will be around so it also follows that the kings will be too. Good luck and let us know how you go Cheers Jim Edited January 6, 2015 by fragmeister
