cameldownunder Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Decided to leave work early, as my fish calendar indicated good fishing between 18:30 and 20:30. After quick dinner left to Roseville Bridge. After initial engine Hicup, and the white all round light that didnt want to work straight away, I managed to get underway. A quick stop after the second port marker, to defrost Squid from Woolies, California squid and pillies. I managed to hook a 25 cm flathead on a 1/0 hook, I moved on to Spit Bridge. Condition were really good, a bit of wind to push the boat gently through the pilons. There were a lot of arches on the sounder. I managed to land a nice fat salmon on the California Squid about 60cm , while the W-Squid did nothing. Then I did some casting with a Berkely gulp 3 inch, on a medium Jig, and managed ot land 2 Tailors, both going 32cm. Might go there again tonight.
Ojay Samson Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Good stuff for having a go and getting rewarded for efforts.
snatcher Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Nice one,I enjoyed fishing around there a few times Was not impressed with the parking charges though !!!! John
iamthecowgodmoo Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 The tailor are pretty thick around the Spit at the moment. If they are not taking the Gulps, then half a pillie under a float will land you a fish a cast. Hope to see you down there sometime Heading down there tomorrow night for some squid.
