NaClH2OK9 Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 (edited) Hi Raiders. A recent off shore fishing trip identified a gap in my tackle collection. Like any tackle junkie it hasn't taken me long to hit the shops. On this occasion looking for lures sutible to throw at the fads. Amongst others i picked up a Blackjack Bobara 50 this is the first lure I've purchased which did not come prehooked. I instinctively asked for jig hooks as I've used these before to replace trebles on my repalas. At this point the assistant asked if I'd considered assist hooks for the lure? I declined as I haven't researched this but have read a little now and in seems some are using this setup. Especially as a front hook system in poppers. What are you thought on assist hooks on hard body lures? How many? And placement? Thanks Steve Edited January 22, 2015 by NaClH2OK9
oldsalty Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Some people hate them some love them, I like them on blades and poppers but only for lighter stuff. I throw the standard jig head attached to a plastic at fads for dollies etc, seems to work, but 2 hooks means more chance of a hook up
