Land based fishing

Hi everyone, just wanted to grab some feedback from local fishing gurus. I'm fairly new to Sydney and besides an undersize tailor from Tom ugly bridge, have not caught a decent fish. Been to the entrance, blues point reserve and Tom ugly bridge and no luck thus far. Any recommendations on land based venues including surf fishing please? I'm from Melbourne and am used to not catching any fish besides snapper in the bay. I was told Sydney was a haven for fish, what's going on.
