finin Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Gday all, what a great day to be out, pity tomorrow wont be the same. Absolutely no wind on the harbour and a few boats anchored up here and there as we made our way out. Poked out through the heads and saw at least 12 boats on the artificial reef lol yes give that a wide birth me thinks, cant comprehend people fishing on top of each other. Buugger all swell around, .5M at the most and from the north. Water temps stayed on 23.3° all day but a visible current line at 30M had a .5° lift in it. Water has gone back to green and dirty hopefully tomorrows southerly and wednesdays one, turn it over. Current downhill at .7kt. Fishing wise, hard day to be had, results not to bad. Had to work today seemed to be more current on the bottom. Each time you dropped basically had three dropbacks then had to reset. Fish galore on the sounder but not many playing games. As usual hit a spot and get on and just as quick theyd go off. Still plenty of mowies around today that went hard on the prawns, snapper still around we only managed a few just legals, all lobbed back in. Still plenty of pike and newcastle bream around and if you move into the 50s and under there are some great tigers and bluespots around mixed in with good size redspots. Nothing much else to say hope whoever was on the water today managed a feed and hope u all enjoy tomorrow.
turtleman Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Hey Finin, if only i read ur report earlier. It was like a Maccas drive thru this morning at Drummoyne ramp. Finally managed to get to the harbour by 6am. I guess i wasnt invited to the wedding in the harbour today. The wedding was surrounded by boats. So i retreated back to the yellow marker just out of Nelson park. All afternoon, i got 1 bream 33cm, a sweep, 2 rats barely hitting 60cm and one bust off all on banana prawns. A mowie would be nice but there is always next time. Cheers E
