We decided to hit the Sydney Harbour yesterday rather than today to not get much boat traffic, but that didn't happen. At least it was a sunny yesterday. Tried first time launching at Five Dock Bay boat ramp AKA Taplin Park boat ramp, and it was full and squashy, we got there about 2ish and waited about 20 minutes, we are so used to Foreshore boat ramp plenty of space. Any how we proceed around Bradley head/Taylors bay and anchored there, started a burley trail and not long after my wife hooks up to a nice big bream. I reckon it was easily about 35-40cm, I tell her to put it in the bucket but she doesn't and puts it in the keeper net over the boat. about ten 10min later she goes to take a photo of it but the net opened up and it got away, we are all sad because we really were looking forward to the bream soup she makes, we continue and my son hooks up to a legal 23cm Tarwhine this time it goes into the bucket.

Very hot we try and look for more shady areas but there are no fish there so we troll around to chowder bay with no luck. We then go back to Taylors Bay and an owl lands on our roof for a rest for about 30mins, the wind starts to pick up just like it said it would so we headed back in a rough bumpy ride to the ramp and as usual everyone has come back at the same time 35min later we are heading home.

If anyone would like to share a good bream spot around Botany Bay boat based I would really appreciate it, because I really need that fresh bream soup wife cooks. I wont tell anyone if you want to keep it secret.

While at chowder bay I notice these yellow markers, I think I saw 3, what are they? I'm guessing its the restriction area for the navy, but when viewing a chart there no where near the zones. I've looked all over the web cant find any info. Can anyone help in out here.

Having the Tawnee Frogmouth sitting there would have been a bit of a thrill, not something that happens every trip on the harbour!

Your right, kids loved it. It would just watch us cast out and fish. Your very knowledgeable to know what bird it was Linc. And thanks GoingFishing for that offer.
