mike2153 Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 I haven't caught a bonnie in a while and really like eating them, just wondering where they are at the moment and how are people targeting them or what lures are best to troll, spin etc etc, might have to get to some ledges after work and do some spinning for them!
Scratchie Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Plenty of them up here at port stephens mate! And I use a 4inch gold and red halco deep diver. They can't resist em! Cheers scratchie!!'
NaClH2OK9 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Me and a friend had them on consecutive days 2 weekends ago around cronulla / jibbon bombora on pink and white Christmas trees. 30m behind the boat. Stunning eating imo
Guest no one Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Anywhere off the rocks near a headland for me, just careful of the swells this week!
Berleyguts Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Got a few a week or so ago, trolling close in off Barrenjoey and Whale Beach headlands. Christmas trees and X-Rap in white did the trick. Also had a few chase a plastic to the boat near Lion Island. Baz
austral Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 heaps around terrigal mate, we got 17 2 weeks ago..
thefisherman6784 Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 I've been fishing the haven at terrigal Very productive spot If you look at it on google maps, it is a protected rock spot which many Pelagics are there and have even seen monster grey nurse sharks and big sea turtles Heaps of squid there too (all calamari)

I like to hit pittwater next, few bonnies would be great.

I just trolled about 50m off the rocks. Don't know about in Pittwater though. Baz
