Fab1 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Fished the minamurra river down the coast on Saturday for this little haul of whiting and bream on the drift. All fish caught on the rising tide using brined nippers over the sandbanks using 8lb mono straight through to a lightly weighted running sinker rig on a 2m trace down to a #4lsh. Cheers. Sorry for the late post as I thought I'd posted already.

Paikea Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Hi Fab, never heard of "brined Nippers' but they obviously work. What is the recipe? BTW, nice catch and a great feed. Minamurra is a nice area, did you fish the river or the entrance? Cheers Paikea

I lid it,give it a shake and store in the shed for a few days. You can't over do it in my opinion. After they've marinated in the concoction,I strain them into a colander to dry then straight into the mrs Tupperware and into the freezer. They toughen up quite a bit using this method and I haven't noticed any difference in catch rates from using live yabbies or these as long as you cast gently(which you should be doing using soft baits)and fish lightly weighted baits allowing your baits to waft around in the current.
