I also got blessed with a new beach house in avoca which is only 15mins from a spot in terrigal know as the haven which I firstly got two Bonnies and two squid, then next session seamus joined me and I got 4 Bonnies and he got 1 but he had the pleasure of hooking something massive and I mean MASSIVE!!! We called it for a long tail because of the screaming run but busted him off :( but also managed 10 squid so it was a great session

Hope you enjoyed guys

Cheers Gianni

You get some decent kings in the haven chasing all the bait mate would not be surprised if you hooked one of those, I presume light gear

Haha thanks Trevor wish holidays was even just that 1 week longer

Dying for another blackie session

Yeh I've heard but this was tuna kicks, run, tuna kicks, run, tuna kicks, huge run then pop

So thinking a tuna but a king was also in the very back of our minds

Seamus can explain to you more

nice work guys... what rig/bait do you use on the carp? thinking of hitting up the parramatta river for some fun/pest control

Thanks mate

We use just a normal unweighted hook rig

Hook size about 4-6 (I think) and bread or corn but my favourite is 2 pieces of corn, slide up the line, then mould a ball of bread on the hook with little hook exposure and slide the corn back down

Just to spice things up ;)

Then leave the bail open or slack line on the water and when it starts taking line/tightening up your line and your confident it has it down, strike but not to hard

We use 4lb leader and 2kg rods which is heaps of fun but if snaggy we still use 1-2kg rods but 8-14lb leader

Hope this helps and good luck

Cheers thefisherman6784

P.S we burley with floating bread and either use floating or sinking bread but mainly sinking, or sometimes you don't need to berley

Great effort bud and some nice fish there. That bonnie session looks like a lot of fun. Was good to catch up last weekend, hope to get out for a flick with you guys again soon.

Great work at the end of the holidays!! Some of those fish look big enough to have dragged you guys in with them. It's a pity they don't have angling as a subject at school ;)
