Terrigal FAD - 28/2/15

Hi raiders,

Went on my first trip out to the Terrigal FAD on Sat in a mates boat.

Hit the water at 6am, conditions were perfect, minimal swell and no wind.

Spent half an hour filling the bait tank with yakka then set off for the FAD. Once the FAD was in sight we trolled out to it with no luck. There was already about 5 other boats out there when we joined the drift past the FAD. Got about 10-12 small dollies in the first hour with livies all around the 40-50cm mark but only 1 legal. The water was blue and 24 degrees but in general very quiet out there, after another hour or so of very little action we decided to move on, as did most of the other boats. Bit of a let down for my first trip out to the FAD especially considering two weeks earlier my mate bagged out on dollies!

We decided to fish Terrigal Wide and Foggies on the way in, they were also very quiet. We managed to pick up a good size snapper, mowie and flathead so at least we got a feed!

All in all it was a very quiet day with most of the fishos back at the ramp reporting the same.

Did anyone else head out on SAT? keen to know how you went.
