Ryder
My korean mate has been getting them for the past few weeks in Newcastle. Not huge but good numbers. Hundreds of people chazing them too.
krause
Hairtail are something ive only caught a few times as by catch. Id be interested to target them more, do you chase them with floats, i only ask because thats how we have caught them in the past?
Ryder
Yes they are using floats, and lights, landbased. Dont strike too quick. d

Ryder
The spot is right in the heart of Newcastle. Honeysuckle drive.
fragmeister
I heard about this from a guy in my local Bunnings Store ( Auburn). It seems they can turn up in odd places from time to time. Very mysterious fish.
krause
Yer, newcastle is a big trek though, just wondering if they're in the Georges or hacking. I might do some research and see what goes. As well as how to cook them!
SquidMarks
Its not hairtail time already again is it?! feels like a month ago that everyone on board was chasing them in the cold dead of winter.
Ryder
I know it sounds weird, unseasonal maybe, I wouldn't know, I never fished for them. My mates brother owns a tackle store in western Sydney, very clued in to what's going on. Heaps of people are making the trek from Sydney, Friday and Saturday and doing allnighters.
