lindenn94
Hi everyone, tomorrow night (saturday 28th march) ill be heading out to sydney harbour for my first attempt at fishing the night, will be launching from tungs park ramp around 8pm. I would like to get out collect some live baits (squid, yakkas) and try for some jews, flathead, or even kingys if there around during the night. i have a never been fishing at night previously so any tips and information would be greatly appreciated!! any tips on what to look out for where i might be able to find livies and where to drift/ anchor once i have a couple livies. Will stay on the water most of the day sunday, has anyone had reports on any action at longreef or the 12 mile for kings? or has anyone heard of where they might be hiding? Thanks in advance LInden Edited March 27, 2015 by lindenn94
Guest 4myson
Under the spit bridge is where you'll find plenty of squid at night . There not big but perfect size for Kings! I usually fish two squid jigs on a dropper with a glow stick attached just above the jigs . I've never caught kings at night so I can't recommend any spots but once first light is up I like to troll them on a Downrigger around the heads . If you don't like trolling , any markers around the harbour are worth a try with the Wedding cakes first priority as long as you can beat the crowds , you should have a head start on everyone if your spending the night . Be safe on the water at night & make sure your visible at night as I've noticed quite a few boats out there fishing with no lights on . Hope this helps & good luck out there .....
